About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer Lead with expertise in HL7 FHIR standards. This role focuses on leading the strategy and architecture for FHIR-based solutions for federal healthcare agencies. The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy professional with a talent for enhancing technology and ensuring users can effectively adopt it. Responsibilities include collaborating with clients to shape product strategies, gathering and acting on customer feedback, providing expertise on technical challenges, training engineers, and guiding the organization's technical direction.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy and architecture for FHIR-based software solutions, ensuring alignment with federal agency requirements and Dynanet’s objectives.
- Act as a subject matter expert in HL7 FHIR standards, providing technical guidance to internal teams, clients, and external developers
- Collaborate with clients to shape the product roadmap and gather feedback to translate into actionable improvements with the project team.
- Mentor and train engineers in FHIR-related technologies and best practices to foster a high-performing team.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as a key liaison between Dynanet, federal agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of FHIR-based solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, enabling informed decision-making.
Required Professional Skills:
- Proficiency in FHIR standards, resources, and implementation guides.
- Capability to design and deploy FHIR-compliant APIs and FHIR servers in cloud environments.
- Strong programming skills in languages commonly used in FHIR implementations, such as Java, Python, etc.
- Expertise in open source FHIR solutions
- Expertise in Clinical Quality Language (CQL) for healthcare quality measure definitions.
- Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards such as HL7 and CDA.
- Experience with cloud platforms and tools for deploying FHIR servers, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical data integration.
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks for FHIR testing and validation.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and building medium-to-large-scale web applications.
- Prior experience developing APIs and deploying healthcare applications based on HL7 and FHIR standards.
