Create Health Information Exchanges with overall responsibility for the Master Patient Index, Medication History, e-Prescribing, and Clinical Messaging
Client: State of Maryland, Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP)
The State of Maryland did not have a Health Information Exchange (HIE) to electronically move clinical information among disparate health care information systems while maintaining the meaning of the information being exchanged. Dynanet was engaged to create a strategic approach for a system to share health information.
Dynanet collaborated across multiple stakeholders from all major provider and provider participants in Maryland to develop a use case design and create the conceptual architectural design for the HIE. The exchange is being implemented using profiles from integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, and following HITSP-endorsed standards of data exchange.
We have helped to integrate 47 hospitals, thousands of physicians, and all major lab and radiology centers in Maryland, in addition to offering medication history for better continuity of care. Dynanet has also designed and implemented direct message notification services, so that primary care physicians are alerted when one of their patients is discharged from the hospital or seen in the emergency department.
